'Drawing Unevenly In The Dirt' by Ravyn LaRue

I like how Joe deemed you as the innocent one

Because you are so much

And yet you aren’t so much

Another literary theory: Yes, And-

I appreciate how you don’t seem to try to define yourself as one singular thing

Many people try and they merely end up limiting themselves

You’re smart enough to know otherwise

I’ve been thinking a lot about that class

I thought about how you and I are somewhat similar to Nel and Sula

Though, we’re at least different entities, I think-

But they are interesting, since they move within their identities

They shift, but stay together-

We will have to part soon, but I doubt we’ll antagonize each other

It’s interesting, since I often get deemed as the innocent one

But I’m not entirely

Though I am entirely

In knowing you, it made me realize I’m not just some singular thing

We are the ever-changing identities

And through it all, we’ll have each other

That’s what I hope, at least.
