I think of you in fractions-
Cat Ears
Staging
Yellow Fishnet Shirts
Turquoise Hair
Anime
A Voice that sings out “Mama who bore me”
Hands tucked into sleeves and arm-warmers
The Scribe
Mornings at the Library
Piano Scarves
Adorkable birds
Matched fangirling
Punk-rockers
All of it-
And I’ll be honest
Since you know, anyways.
We drifted far since freshmen year.
But you are wonderful.
And I’m glad to be your friend.
We will likely keep on drifting.
Because you and I are both moving up.
And had it not been for you, I doubt I’d have this path.
Everyone changes everyone they know-
In one way or another-
That’s just inevitable.
But I’d be lying if I said you didn’t inspire me.
And I know, you’re the sort of steadfast person to trust.
That’s comforting and kind.
And regardless of anything-
I am thankful for you.
